Details At 16:45 Equipment failure severed communication with the PSTN (fixed network) affecting all inbound calls and most outbound calls, full service was restored by 10:00am this morning (30-07-2009).

We experienced an unexpected service outage which was caused by a failure in some equipment linking freespeech to the PSTN (fixed network) at our Telecity site.
Additionally some alarm mechanisms did not perform as expected which further delayed resolution. Service disruption began at 16:45 (29-07-2009), service was partially restored by 9:00am and full restored by 10:am (30-07-2009).

We are still investigating the exact cause of the problem, once isolated we will put measures in place to prevent the same problem re-occurring.

** UPDATE **
31-7-09: We are having ongoing stability issues with this interconnect - we are still investigating the exact cause and replacing faulty equipment accordingly.

**UPDATE **
03-08-09: We have replaced equipment suspected as faulty during the weekend (31-7-09) and have been monitoring the interconnect closely, it seems issue is now completely resolved. We have put new measures in place to improve alarming and we are working on measures to completely remove point of failure.
